Board Member Spotlight: Reis Alsberry

Reis Alsberry is the Director of Technology Transfer at FAMU and serves on Domi’s Board of Directors. Reis is a lover of dogs, technology and is most proud of his accomplishments in helping Old Dominion University profit from commercialized technologies in 2013 and assisting FAMU in issuing eight patents in 2019. Alsberry’s successes are shown evidenced in his expertise of electrical and civil engineering, intellectual property law, and university technology transfer.

Reis has made a splash in the Tallahassee technology world in just five short years after landing here. He believes Tallahassee's technology-based business community is ripe for expansion, and north Florida locals are ready to see the economy expand all around. While Reis is a master in all things tech related, he encourages every entrepreneur to engage with Domi because of their inclusive and encouraging nature that strives to educate anyone willing to sharpen their skill sets through seminars, classes, and other sponsored programming. Reis continues to make new advances in Tallahassee's tech-based community and believes that all new endeavors and the entrepreneurial spirit are faced with successes and failures - keep your head up.

Pro Tip: Reis recommends checking out Divvy-Up socks. They started the company to help meet the needs of the homeless in Tallahassee. It became an unexpected runaway success and now serves as an inspiration to entrepreneurs of all kinds.
